Back to my Roots

I started photography when I was about 14, and my first images were developed in the school darkroom with the exposure for the print being counted down by saying “One-Kodak-Two-Kodak-Three ….. ” (what great subliminal advertising that was!) Since then I have had a love of black and white photography, but I have had trouble getting my head back into place since shooting digital. Whilst I have shot some images which I have considered worthwhile, I have trouble trying to pre-visualise the image, and then having to do that all over again when I get in front of the computer screen. However, I have been having a little more success recently and shot this yesterday at St. Dominics Priory in Lymington, Hampshire (the old one in England, that is). It may form part of a series I have always wanted to work on showing many aspects of religion.

About Gerry Walden

I am a stock photographer with far more years of experience than I would care to mention. Located in Southampton (UK) I am sandwiched between two national parks and my home town is a major seaport. I shoot mostly people related images, and travel when I can. I am resident photographer at a major concert venue in the town which means I get to shoot a variety of musicians.
