Aperture Again

I keep playing with various RAW processing programs and I keep coming back to Aperture as simply the best overall for what I do. Sorry Windows/PC users but it is not available for you, but then why aren’t you using an Apple computer (there, that should get me some hate mail!!) Now that Aperture is available through the Apple Apps Store for just £49 ($75) it simply has to be the best value on the block. I very simply find it better and quicker for processing my Nikon NEFs than anything else in the same marketplace. I appreciate others may give good results with Nikon files, but most of them involve having two programs, one for DAM and one for image editing.

I have just been looking back at some images shot in Norfolk back in 2008, and I re-edited this one in Aperture using the ‘Toy Camera’ preset which I think has given a very nice version of a pretty standard image. It involved about 2 clicks of the mouse, and that makes it simple for someone who does not enjoy post-processing that much. Hope you like it too!

About Gerry Walden

I am a stock photographer with far more years of experience than I would care to mention. Located in Southampton (UK) I am sandwiched between two national parks and my home town is a major seaport. I shoot mostly people related images, and travel when I can. I am resident photographer at a major concert venue in the town which means I get to shoot a variety of musicians.
