Etwan Finatawa

I was delighted to see my image of Etwan Finatawa used on this advertising hoarding for the new arts complex in Southampton city centre – thanks to Turner Sims Concert Hall. The image was taken on the Fujifilm X-Pro1 during a performance of this great artist from Niger, and shows him playing a water drum (the first time I had seen or heard this being played). The final image has been cropped from my original image, and has been used about a meter square. The original was shot at 6,400 iso and if anyone has any doubts about the ability of this small camera under difficult lighting conditions they should see this image in real life! Special thanks to Fuji for enabling my vision to expand by using their X-series camera and lenses.

About Gerry Walden

I am a stock photographer with far more years of experience than I would care to mention. Located in Southampton (UK) I am sandwiched between two national parks and my home town is a major seaport. I shoot mostly people related images, and travel when I can. I am resident photographer at a major concert venue in the town which means I get to shoot a variety of musicians.
