The Street Sweeper

I photographed this guy in Budapest whilst sitting having a coffee. It was taken on my Leica M7 using the Zeiss 50mm Sonnar f1.5 and Fuji Neopan 400CN film. As it has proved popular elsewhere I thought maybe I would share it here:

A street sweeper keeps the streets clean in Budapest, hungary

It is a pity that these guys have disappeared from so many streets as they can help giving tourists directions, help street security etc. etc. People like him can be the eyes and ears of the community. I know all the long arguments about cost effectiveness etc. but I just wonder sometimes whether progress is always in a forward direction.
Just my thoughts.

About Gerry Walden

I am a stock photographer with far more years of experience than I would care to mention. Located in Southampton (UK) I am sandwiched between two national parks and my home town is a major seaport. I shoot mostly people related images, and travel when I can. I am resident photographer at a major concert venue in the town which means I get to shoot a variety of musicians.
